T.R.A.I.L.S. can be installed on a stand-alone PC, or a Network under multiple platforms, including MS, Novell, Unix and Linux. It  can also be installed as a client-server application, if desired.

PC Compatible Pentium 300Mhz or higher, 128MB Ram (256 MB or higher recommended for Win XP), SVGA Video Graphics, Media Player 9 or greater for videos, SoundBlaster Compatible Sound Card or On-Board Sound, Speakers, Microphone, 1 GB HD Space Free for application files (5-10 GB minimum recommended for program files), CD-ROM Drive, MS Windows 98SE, 2000 Professional, XP Professional or Windows 7 Professional.

There are no limitations to the number of Work Stations that can be connected to a network, however an access node is required for each terminal.

 T.R.A.I.L.S' storage limitations are based on hardware capacity and operating system.  The system is capable of storing up to 18,000 Terabytes of data per file. This could include every known Native American Language, or most of the languages of the world.
